| Abstract | In this work, the multipolarized images of MAPSAR simulation were evaluated for extration of geologic information. The Curaçá River valley (BA) is an excellent area for this type of study, once it has a great lithological variability, dispersed caatinga vegetation and dominant plain relief. The information was extracted from visual analysis, with fotointerpretation techniques, and from digital analysis, with the statistics evaluation of the amplitude of the signal scattering for the main lithological units. The results show that its possible to approach the geological map of the area from the fotointerpretation, and even add relative information to structural geology. For the separability of the main lithological units was concluded that as polarized components are added to the evaluation the separabilidade of the units increases and that between the three polarizations, VV presented greater separability. | |||
